Vanta Labs builds simple, focused apps. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using Guardian, Herf Station, Cigar Ledger, Parent Quest, Vanta Shift, and the Vanta Labs website.

We keep data collection as limited as possible. We do not sell your personal data.

1. Who we are

Vanta Labs is the developer and operator of the Vanta Labs apps and website. You can contact us at support@vantalabs.co.uk.

2. Information we may collect

The information we collect depends on which app you use and which features you enable.

3. How we use information

We use information to provide, secure, maintain, and improve our apps. This includes signing users in, syncing app data where relevant, displaying family locations, sending Guardian SOS alerts, enabling Herf Station lounges, restoring subscriptions, preventing abuse, fixing bugs, responding to support requests, and complying with legal obligations.

4. Guardian location and SOS data

Guardian Safety Notice

Guardian is designed to help families share locations and receive safety notifications. While we strive to provide a reliable service, we cannot guarantee that location information, push notifications, or SOS alerts will always be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, or delivered immediately. Their delivery may be affected by factors outside our control, including internet connectivity, mobile network coverage, GPS accuracy, device settings, battery level, notification permissions, operating system restrictions, or third-party service availability.

Guardian is not an emergency service and should never be relied upon as your sole means of obtaining emergency assistance. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call your local emergency services immediately.

5. Children’s privacy

Some Vanta Labs apps are intended for use by parents or guardians managing family information. If you create or manage a child profile, add a child device, or enable Guardian location sharing for a child, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian, or that you have appropriate authority and consent.

Parents and guardians are responsible for using the apps lawfully, explaining location sharing or monitoring where required, and ensuring the child’s device permissions are appropriate.

6. App-specific notes

Guardian

Guardian may process account data, family group data, precise location, background location, SOS events, push notification tokens, device status, and safety-related timestamps.

Herf Station

Herf Station may process account details, lounge details, profile information, chat/community content if enabled, and real-time voice data needed to operate lounges. Voice rooms are community spaces, and users should not share private information they do not want others to hear.

Cigar Ledger

Cigar Ledger may process collection entries, tasting notes, ratings, images, and related cigar information you choose to add. Any cigar information is for personal reference only.

Parent Quest

Parent Quest is a parent-managed chore, checklist, and reward app. It may store child names or nicknames, tasks, rewards, progress, and subscription status. Where the app stores information locally on your device, deleting the app may delete that local data.

Vanta Shift

Vanta Shift may process shift times, hourly rates, estimated earnings, settings, and subscription status. Wage calculations are estimates only and should not be treated as official payroll records.

7. Sharing information

We do not sell personal data. We may share information only where needed to provide the apps, such as with hosting providers, authentication providers, database providers, push notification services, app stores, analytics or crash reporting tools if used, and legal or safety authorities where required by law.

Guardian location and SOS information may be shared with connected family members or guardians as part of the service.

8. Storage and security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that data will never be accessed, lost, delayed, or interrupted.

9. Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as needed to provide the apps, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain business records. Some data may remain in backups for a limited period after deletion.

10. Deleting your data

How you delete your data depends on the app you use. Some Vanta Labs apps store information locally on your device, while others store information securely on services used to operate the app.

For apps that store data locally, you can normally remove your information within the app or by uninstalling it. Where Vanta Labs stores account or cloud data, you can contact support@vantalabs.co.uk to request deletion, subject to any legal, security, fraud-prevention or accounting obligations.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights relating to personal information that Vanta Labs holds, including requesting correction or deletion where applicable. If an app stores information only on your own device, you are responsible for managing that information locally.

12. Cookies and website use

The Vanta Labs website may use basic cookies or similar technologies for functionality, security, contact forms, or analytics if enabled. We do not use cookies to sell your personal information.

13. International use

Our apps may be used internationally. Data may be processed in countries other than your own, depending on the services used to operate the apps. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to notify users through the website, app, or other appropriate means.
